RECENSIONI:

ATLAS OF URINARY SEDIMENTS
DIAGNOSIS AND CLINICAL CORRELATIONS IN NEPHROLOGY
G. PICCOLI,    D. VARESE,    M. ROTUNNO
RAVEN PRESS - NEW YORK
_______
"... in this age of considerable progress in sophisticated technical methods of diagnosis, simple techniques such as the microscopic examination of the urinary sediment tend to be undervalued.
On the other hand, however, every physician who regularly has to examine an urinary sediment knows the frustration of repeatedly being uncertain about the correct interpretation of occasional costituents of the urine. This atlas therefore is to be given a heartily welcome by all doctors (as well as the technicians) who are in that situation. It is a marvellous work and, to my knowledge, one of the best ( if not the best ) and most extensive monographs on the subjects ever published ..."
Andrologia, Vol. 17, n. 5, 1985
_______
"... the brief description opposite the splendid photographs will form a good reference manual for clinicians and laboratory workers alike..."
British Journal of Urology, pg. 237, april 1986
_______
"This Atlas provides a much needed update in a subject which, in the past, has usually been dealt with as a chapter in books of clinical or chemical methods ...
... for any pathologist or clinical nephrologist who has to deal with urinary sediments on a regolar basis. I would say that this should be an essential bench book which will serve its users well for a very long time ..."
